This Hand and a Half Sword was made in approximately 1510 in Germany by an unknown maker. I came across this sword on display at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and it was the twisting pommel that caught my eye and inspired me to re-create it in 3D. The materials were mostly figured out in Substance Painter, but I used designer to make some custom leather materials. The simpler shape of the weapon allowed me to focus on just a handful of materials and get them looking good. It was a really fun project, and I think I'm going to make some more swords and weapons soon.
